Pence Consulting Services and Rates

Pence Consulting was established in 1992 as a full-service, consulting firm supporting nonprofit organizations. Services include direct consultative guidance, feasibility studies and surveys, training programs, coaching (personal and telephone) and sponsorship of National Training Seminars. Pence Consulting specializes in Annual, Endowment, and Capital Campaigns along with developing fundraising plans and board and staff development. Since the firm's inception over 100 Nonprofit Organizations have used the services provided.

Pence Consulting provides a unique telephone consulting service where clients can buy telephone coaching and mentoring on all aspects of fund development. Fees are based on an hourly rate and can be arranged at times convenient to the client.

Since 1993 Pence Consulting has contracted with Indiana University Center on Philanthropy, the Fund Raising School to sponsor their courses in Michigan. The Firm has offered over 80 Fund Raising School courses in Michigan. In 2000, Pence joined the faculty and teaches their courses nationally.

In 2002, Carole J. Pence became a Certified DISC Trainer and completed the required courses to assist businesses and nonprofit organizations in using this tool to achieve their goals. The Fund Raising School uses the DISC in their Interpersonal Communications, which Pence teaches.

Carole J. Pence is an adjunct faculty member at Lawrence Technology University in Southfield MI.

Pence Consulting has established rates for hourly, daily, long term contracts and workshops. Before any work begins Pence Consulting provides a written estimate and outline of services provided.

Pence Consulting complies with the strict ethical standards set forth by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and never works on a commission.

From 1989 to 1992 Carole held the first Director of Annual Giving position through the Northern Michigan University's Development office; from 1987-1989 worked independently to set up endowment funds for Catholic Elementary Schools and Charites; and from 1983-1987 was the Executive Director of the Holy Name Endowment Fund that supported a Catholic elementary school.
